We went over to David and Jill's house to see how Sam and Dominic looked in their costumes. They were very cute. Samantha was so excited about Halloween. Dominic didn't really know what was going on at first but had fun and loved his sucker.We went home around 7 because Virginia was answering the door for us and we had no idea how many trick or treaters would come (since it is our first Halloween here) We actually had about 20 which surprised me. But I have a ton of mini play doughs left over. We'll have to use it when the grandkids come over.
On Monday we went to our Singles Ward Halloween party. It was a lot of fun. Even though you don't know thesepeople you can see some of the things we did.
Dave and the Bishop and first counselor were made into mummies using toilet paper. He was covered head to toe.
Dave won the prize for the best mummy. The kids had fun covering him withT.P.
This was the chubby bunny eating contest and the doughnut on a string contest. Scott C. is in the middle.
We also had a pie eating contest, a cake walk, face painting and ice cream sundaes on top of all the other sweets. I didn't eat a thing. Its been a challenge. I even won a plate of cookies in the cake walk but put them back on the table.

Yeah, those are awesome cupcakes. I'll have to use your idea next year. I love that you gave out play-doh instead of candy. I wish more people would give out non-food items. I wish we could have been with you for Halloween. The holidays are not the same without family.

In regard to Dave's seemingly staring off into the wall with a rather whimsical turn of his head, I think I have the answer. . .I've seen that before, and well, Dons, I'm gonna break it to you - Dave has an imaginary friend! How do I know this? Well, don't forget, my granddaughter is the virtual princess of all things imaginary. . and while we sent her imaginary friend, Ayla, to "Fresno" about 5 years ago. . .well, i can't help but think, like Dave, she slips up every so often and just starts talking to him. Dave was probably sharing the delights of watching the people carve their pumpkins and asking his i.f. "which one do you like?" (can'tyou just see that by the tilt of his head?)
SERIOUSLY, you made me LOL when you wrote, "I don't know what Dave was looking at in this picture" and when i read that, I expected to see Dave staring off somewhere behind the picture-taker's view. But when I saw the picture, I snorted out my hot chocolate, girl!!
